![]() ![]() Instead of the tier of the skill determining the cost, the knowledge cost is now based on the amount of Tomes you have collected so far. To be honest, I think maybe the drone carrier is a bit weak (maybe make it flying, or make every summon drone action spawn 2 drones?) and some people have complained about the Earth Crusher (which I personally rather like) but the consensus seems to be that the Kirko t4 is a beast, ditto the celestian and psynumbra guys. The way knowledge costs are determined for skills in Tomes has changed. ![]() The downside is that threads like this keep showing up, complaining that t4 units are weak. The net result is that you will very likely still be using t1 infantry in the late game, whereas beforehand they'd be obsolete by turn 30. Introduced modding, which is more cost effective for lower tier units ![]() Made lower tier units much more useful throughout the game Made t4 units very expensive, and with serious upkeep costs Gated t4 units behind research (even though all races now have t4 units) ![]() However, stacks of half stacks of upper tier units were still incredibly cost effective. Yeah some people are still holding onto the idea that a t4 or t3 unit should wtf pwn everything lower tier.Īnd in AoW1 especially, that was the case, especially with unit enchantments.īut that was severely counter balanced by having t3 and t4 units come out from very few sites on the map, namely size 3 and 4 cities, which were very rare in even the biggest maps.ĪoW2,SM had unlimited cities (if you played with settlers on ofcourse) and unit enchantments, so the issue got rather severe.ĪoW3 reigned it in somewhat by gating t4 units to classes only, and requiring research, and removing persistent unit enchantments. ![]()
